As part of our dedication to ensuring all dogs are given the opportunity to live a happy life with dedicated owners, The Positive Pet Project volunteers weekly at the RSPCA Wacol campus, as well as providing regular support to other rescue groups including Shamroq and Real Rescue.
Brooke uses her knowledge and expertise to:
- Work with individual dogs each week to recognise and change problem behaviours
- Provide training plans for various canine residents to ensure the positive training she conducts during her visits can continue each week while the dog remains in the shelter or following their adoption
- Provide training for other staff and volunteers
Brooke finds these visits to be one of the most challenging and rewarding times of her week but ultimately takes great satisfaction from seeing how the dogs progress, and teaching others about the benefits of positive training.
“The Positive Pet Project is so proud to sponsor Lis and Big Frank – a Delta Therapy dog team who visit at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane. We love supporting this dedicated team as they make regular visits to the sick and elderly to provide the wonderful benefits of pet therapy”
